President, Silovac and Classic were the house brands of State Vacuum Stores (later called President Electric), which operated for many years in both Canada and the US. In Canada the President and Silovac machines were made by Bylock (in England) and later Vactric (in Scotland) and Switson Industries (Ontario) while in the US they were made by Apex. The Classic machines were also made in England by Bylock for the State Vacuum Stores in Canada.
